Are you, like me, getting to that stage where you’re looking at your face in that  magnifying mirror and thinking about going down the Botox route? I’ve always been the one that says “never say never” but my aversion to needles in general, and needles in my face in particular, has, so far, put me off. So I’m the first one in the line to try out any treatment that can give me the effect of Botox, or at least delay delving down that route for a little while. Today’s post is all about that – I’m going to tell you all about the EVA by Endospheres Facial and why you need it (I know I do!)

A few years ago, I tried out Pelleve, a radio frequency treatment that works on stimulating your skin’s own collagen production, which I have to say, I loved! I tried it out as a press appointment, but I was so impressed, I went ahead and booked in as a regular paying customer for two more treatments to finish the course. It was actually such a lovely treatment that I fell asleep during one of the sessions, and the difference it made was quite astonishing. My whole face looked lifted, firmer, actually younger and just better in an indefinable way.

Sadly, Pelleve is too expensive for me to keep going back to it, but if you are in the same camp as me, I’ve discovered something that I think will excite you as much as it excites me! It’s called EVA by Endospheres, and it’s affordable, accessible and super-effective. I’ve even got some before and after pics that are so impressive (at least, I think so), that you’ll be rushing to book your appointment.

EVA is rooted in technology already in use in the medical arena (credentials which makes me like and trust it even more) for patients in need of lymphatic drainage, circulation and other areas of sports medicine. It’s also been used for many aesthetic treatments, including as an effective treatment for cellulite (but we’ll come to that later).

EVA uses this technology and takes it two steps further, to give a three-stage facial treatment that deeply exfoliates, lifts, defines and sculpts the face and finally, deeply nourishes and plumps the skin. The immediate effects are astounding and with a course of treatments, it only gets better.

So before I get into the nitty-gritty, let’s get to what you really want to see – those before and after photos, because, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I don’t even need to point out how lifted the left side of my face looks, especially around the eyebrow area. The cheekbone and jaw line looks more contoured and sculpted and the ‘apple’ of my cheek looks plumper and jucier too.

In case you think I’ve doctored these photos, take a look at these two little videos (apologies for the quality; they’re both filmed on my iPhone – as are the two photographs above):

So, to get into the facial itself, this is not a traditional facial but I’m guessing if you’re reading this far, you’re not looking for the traditional facial. Like me, you’re looking for a results driven, lifting, firming and sculpting treatment. the treatment is broken down into three phases, each harnessing a slightly different technology:

Phase 1 uses a compression microvibration technology that deeply cleanses and visibly exfoliates at a very deep level to leave you with glowing, luminous skin that feels softer to the touch, even after just one treatment.

Phase 2 uses a similar technology without the ablative element of Phase 1 to  massage your skin and the muscles deep underneath the skin to firm, tone, lift, improve circulation, plump up the skin and facial tissue under it. It’s literally like an intense gym workout for your face, but there’s no downtime or sore muscles, just renewed, brighter looking skin and a firmer, more toned and sculpted face.

The final Phase 3 is all about nourishing your skin and feeding it with the ingredients it needs. Vibro Electro Delivery uses modulated electric square-wave pulses to really push the active ingredients deep into the skin. The technique works by temporarily disrupting the cell membranes of the skin; this disruption allows the entry of products such as serums into the deeper dermal and epidermal layers of the skin. The square wave pulse (rather than the traditional curved wave pulse) ‘disrupts’ the skin cells for that little bit longer, allowing the deeper penetration of the active product ingredients, without the need for injectables.

The end result?

Super glowy, toned, softer skin that looks fresher, younger and smoother.

And all at a very affordable price – each treatment (an hour long session) comes in at about £150-£250, depending on the active products used in Phase 3

Who is this good for? This is perfect for anyone with dull, loose skin, open pores, congested skin, fine lines, wrinkles and skin laxity. It’s great for any age, male or female. It’s great for those looking for an instant improvement and also those looking for long term improvements over time.

How long does a treatment take? The full three-phase facial takes approximately an hour.

What’s the downtime? There is none! You look great after, your skin looks so even-toned you could go straight out, but it’s fine to apply make-up after the treatment if you’d like to.

How often and how many treatments needed? Whilst you’ll see an immediate improvement after just one session (see my videos and photos above), a course of 6-12 treatments is recommended, once a month or fortnightly, depending on where your skin is at and the results you’re looking for.

Of course, there are contraindications, such as pregnancy, recent history of cancer, implants etc, but you can see all of these on the website and always ask before booking in if you have any concerns or doubts.

There’s loads more information on the evafacial website.
