You know how it is. A new restaurant opens and it can go two ways. You’re either the first in there or you wait to see what the reviews are like before you venture in. Normally, I fall into the first category, but this time around, it took a while.
A whole year, to be precise.
And boy, did it turn out to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Puerto Banus.
The GrillHouse opened in summer 2012 in the Cristamar Centre, opposite El Corte Ingles, Puerto Banus. There’s no real reason why we didn’t try it last year, (probably just ran out of time), but this year, (spoiler alert), I’ll tell you now, it was well worth the wait.
With five of us eating, we pretty much wanted everything on the menu between us. Steak, fish, burgers, pasta with a fabulous list of starters too. Potato and Leek Croquettes were perfect, crispy on outside, soft and succulent on the inside, with a delicate flavour of prawns that didn’t overpower. Beef Carpaccio was fresh and beautifully thinly sliced, the BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad was filling enough to have as a main course in its own right and the Beetroot & Goats Cheese Salad was moreish in the extreme.
Whetting our appetite with these morsels, it was time to move onto the main course.
Errr, yes, that’s 300g of steak… and yes, he finished the whole thing! Cooked to perfection, it smelled yummy.
Because you can never have too many chips…especially when they’re cooked to this standard, crispy yet fluffy and perfectly seasoned

Oops, we *may* have ordered even more chips – well, with chips this good, it would be kind of rude not to, wouldn’t you say??
The clean lines and decor, lighting and interior was completely up my street too

And if you can’t face driving home after a few too many, there’s always the bike on the wall – I’m sure they wouldn’t mind as long as you bring it back the next day!
In fact, I loved the place so much, I just had to get you to meet Chef Rafael and Tim, so out of the kitchen they come just to say hello to you…
And of course, I couldn’t go without introducing you to Bacco and Emman who provided quite possibly the best service I’ve ever had in a restaurant…
So next time you’re in Marbella, don’t even think about not going to The GrillHouse. Faultless service, a gourmet meal and an experience that’ll have you raving about it just I am!
