I’m going to do a full blown post about the two new Spring 2013 collections coming our way from OPI very soon, I promise, but I was so desperate to try this one out that I just had to show you straight away!
It’s from the new collaboration with Mariah Carey and it’s one of four varnishes that use a totally new technology. The varnishes go on like any normal glitter varnish, but they dry to a matte, sandy texture that sparkle and shimmer on your nails almost like salt crystals do when the sea water dries out (remember that experiment from your school days?)
I have no idea if it’s going to be a nightmare to remove, like most glitters, but right now, I’m loving it so much, I don’t really care!
What do you think? Do you like this effect? I’m lusting after the other shades too!
UPDATE – 30 OCTOBER
After seven days, there’s been no chips, and negligible tip-wear – you’d need a microscope to see it. So, unlike some glitters, this wears extremely well 🙂
Taking it off was always going to be difficult, so I’m using the salon technique of wrapping my nails in cotton wool pads soaked in nail varnish remover, which make it less of a nightmare – but it’s still tough. This is like cement on the nails, but in a good way – my nails have never felt this strong! 🙂
Can’t wait to get one of the other colours!

Wow!!! These nail polishes are amazing. It looks classy and I so love the color. And yeah, you will really have a hard time removing that polish but that will happen a week or so depending on how you use your hands.
Well, I guess that’s two sides of the coin – hard to remove, but lasts forever!

Hi Jenny, it is actually a bit like the caviar polishes, but whole lot less hassle in applying. Of course, the colours permutations in a caviar manicure are vast, whereas this is just four shades… for now at least, anyway

This is such a beautiful colour! How much are OPI polishes? I’m going to guess they don’t come cheap for such good quality?
