If this was just a beauty blog award event, I’d already be going round in circles about what to wear! But this was so much more than that. Not only would there be loads of fashion bloggers and tweeters also vying for an award in their category, but the whole event was being run by Marie Claire, the monthly fashion and lifestyle magazine! Double yikes!!
I’d been thinking a stunning neon pink lace creation by Christopher Kane, along with my latest Very Prive Loubis bought at a preview, but the weather had other ideas. With the metaphorical mercury struggling to even hit minus-one on the temperature outside, I knew that however much I wanted to wear the dress, I probably wouldn’t make it to the awards without certain body parts needing to be thawed out!
So I went for my butter-soft L’Agence flared black leather dress, black tights and the utterly divine Figurina 140 Ankle Boots by Louboutin that I managed to snag in the sale. Yes, it’s head to toe black, I’ll grant you that. But at least there are a few different textures in there – that should redeem me somewhat?
No Mario Testino yet, but we live in hope!
