Before we even talk about the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipsticks, the shades, the formulas, let’s just take a minute or three to appreciate the aesthetic… I mean, are these not the most beautiful lipsticks you could hope to have on your dressing table. No need to decorate with ornate Lalique decorations, just give me a lots of these to adorn my bedroom and dressing room! So I make no apologies for the total photo overload!
These oil-in-stick lipsticks have become iconic for their beautiful packaging; it seems no makeup bag is complete without at least one. 6 oils, pomegranate, macadamia butter, hyaluronic acid, pigments and pearls come together beautifully for high-shine combined with high pigment colour, and they smell beautiful too.

Left to Right: 50 Fuchsia Stiletto, 46 Orange Perfecto, 45 Rouge Tuxedo, 47 Beige Blouse, 51 Rose Saharienne, 42 Baume Midi Minuit
Recently, 12 new shades were launched to add to the 18-strong collection already available, so I thought I’d swatch six of the new ones here.

These are just six of the 12 latest shades, and there are now 30 shades in total in the range. Although they’re glossy, there’s more than enough pigment to ensure that the colour lingers on long after you feel your lipstick has worn off. And the hydrating oils mean that your lips feel moisturised even after the ‘slippy’ feel of the lipstick has gone.
I’m feeling an overwhelming urge to collect the whole collection!
