Who’s reeling from last night’s announcement? Not that it was a surprise or unexpected if you’d been watching the figures slowly but surely rising over the Christmas break. So now we’re into a new lockdown, the third since last March, to try to deal with the new variant of this awful disease that’s change the world. Officially now in Tier 5 in the battle against this Corona Virus COVID19.
We’re being told to stay home again, much like last March. Schools are closed again until February half term, and we’re home and online schooling again. GCSE and A Levels exams cancelled again this year. We’re being told to stay at home unless you come within certain exemptions. The clinically vulnerable will be shielding again.
And so it goes on. All with just over 24 hours notice before it becomes law.
All this I’m sure you will have heard already, umpteen times since 8pm last night. So I’m not going to go on and on about it here on these pages, I promise. I guess I just needed to record it here for myself, for when I read this back in years to come. This sounds awfully like the blog posts I was writing back in March and April last year.
But there IS a difference. This time, unlike last March, we have a CoronaVirus vaccine to show us some light at the end of the tunnel. TWO vaccines in the UK, in fact. So we stay home. This will pass. I keep reminding myself how fortunate I am to be warm, safe and healthy.
And so, onto happier things (maybe shallower, but hey, whatever works to get us through this).
I’ve been upgrading my skincare routine since last month and I’m beginning to see some fabulous results, so I promise the next blog post will be all about that.
And what do we think about dressing up at home? Have outfit posts become totally redundant? Or do they offer a little escapism and lift the spirits? I’m 50/50 between the two, so I’d love to know what you think…
ARE YOU GETTING PROPERLY DRESSED EVERYDAY OR IS IT LOUNGEWEAR FOR THE WIN?
