So, we’re more than two months into the year…how many of your new year resolutions and intentions have you kept up? Gym membership and attendance still going strong? No junk in your diet? Filling in your gratitude journal every night? And how did #dryJanuary or #veganuary, or even #frugalfebruary go for you? (I failed dismally!)
One of the key resolutions I made this year was to be kinder to myself in all ways, including putting my health and nutrition first and foremost. Vital to this, in my mind, was making sure I take all my skincare supplements. If you’re anything like me, though, actually taking them isn’t the problem, it’s making sure that I have them in the house. I’m the worst at procrastinating and talking about replenishing my supplements when they run out, but not getting round to actually buying them. (Last year, I kept ‘forgetting’ to get my iron tablets; I went a whole month without them… let’s just say I won’t ever let that happen again now I know how ill I was without them).
So I’m loving the auto-delivery option on some of my favourite skincare supplements. By subscribing, you can ensure you’re sent the exact amount you need on a monthly basis, so there’s no excuse for not taking them. And as we all know, the effects of taking a skincare supplement are not something you’ll see overnight; it’s the regular, consistent feeding of the skin from within that rewards you with that radiant, luminous, clear skin that we all hanker after. And, as an added bonus, if you subscribe for regular delivery, there’s a small discount offered by each of the four brands.
One of the questions I’m asked again and again is which supplements I take for my skin and which ones I recomend. So here’s a round-up of my four favourites available on auto-delivery (for detailed information in each of the supplements, eg full ingredients list etc, please head to their individual websites which I’ll make sure to link for you):
OG readers of this blog will already be familiar with my love for Lumity. So much so that I subscribed for two deliveries a month – one for me and one for my husband. It’s a scientifically combined supplement that separates out what your body needs in the morning from what it needs in the evening. The capsules are packed full of omegas, vitamins and minerals work around the clock to ensure you get what you need, when you need it.
Three brown soft-gel capsules in the morning, three white ones in the evening promise better sleep cycles, more energy through the day, advanced anti-ageing benefits, softer, clearer, more youthful skin and a whole host of other benefits too. The combination of ingredients also address some of the causes of ageing: amino acids, vitamin A, magnesium and co-enzyme Q-10 are just some of the ingredients in the morning capsule. The white nighttime capsule, taken at bedtime, contains a mix of flaxseed oil and amino acids including Lysine and L-Arginine to reinforce the anti-glycation and antioxidant effects of the morning’s capsule and most users (including me and my husband) report back to say they also sleep better.

Ingenious Beauty Ultimate Collagen
Ingenious Beauty’s Ultimate Collagen tablets are a 100% natural food supplement that has been formulated to specifically replenish the body’s collagen and hyaluronic acid levels. The three tablets taken at bedtime are enteric coated, meaning they dissolve in the small intestine (not the stomach), to ensure maximum absorption of the nutrients. When I was taking these, I could see and feel a real difference in the firmness and smoothness of my skin, including the an improvement in the appearance of my ever-enlarging pores! The collagen is derived from a Marine Collagen Peptide, but there are plans afoot for a vegan version to be launched very soon.

Relatively new to the UK, but a hugely popular all over Europe is the range of supplements from AIME. This French brand has a range of three different supplements for women containing vitamins and probiotics for healthy, clear and glowing skin. French Glow is almost like a moisturiser for the skin from the inside and is packed full of hyaluronic acid, making it perfect for those that suffer from dry skin, dermatitis, or rosacea. Urban Glow is for those looking for an antioxidant hit combined with ingredients to help with hormonal balance, including evening primrose, spirulina, lycopene, vitamin C and probiotics, making it perfect for city dwellers or post-menopausal women. Pure Glow is a great option for the week before and the week after your period; containing magnesium, turmeric, zinc, probiotics and spirulina, it promotes better digestion to calm inflammation in the body.

The supplement I’ve taken for the longest time of all, and the one I keep coming back to will be no surprise to any of you that have been reading my blog or following my other platforms such as Instagram. For me, Collagen Shots are where it all started for me in terms of feeding my skin from within. The easily dissolved powder makes the most yummy pink drink that is literally like drinking an anti-ageing cocktail. Packed full of clean ingredients including skin-firming Marine extract collagen (a whopping 10,000mgs per serving!), alongside Acai berry, vitamins B and C and of course, a good dose of hyaluronic acid to plump and moisturise the skin from the inside out. The effects are gradual and cumulative, but within a couple of weeks of taking this regularly, your skin looks radiant, smoother, firmer, plumper and moisturised – no more dry scaly skin on my shins or elbows, even in the height of winter with the central heating turned up to the max!
(pssst! when you’re scrolling through the Collagen Shots website, make sure to check out the other products also available from Rejuvenated – I’m also addicted to their H3O Night Repair, H3O Hydration and also their protein smoothies and protein soups….)
