*** EDIT: LINKS WILL BE LIVE AT MIDNIGHT, THURSDAY 31ST AUGUST ***
They’ve only gone and done it again! Alpha-H, that essential skincare brand that’s responsible for the iconic Liquid Gold skin transformer, has launched a Cleansing Balm, one of my all time favourite elements of a skin care routine, ever.
And the good news is, it’s coming atcha in a QVC UK exclusive TSV on Thursday 31st August – a collection of some of Alpha-H’s best selling products in a can’t-miss-it price; we’re talking less than £40 for a value of just under £120! CLICK HERE TO BUY IT NOW (‘cos you know it’ll sell out early on).
Before I start waxing lyrical about the cleansing balm (if you saw my instastories you’ll already have heard me raving about it) let’s just talk about what’s included in the collection and why you can’t afford to miss it.
In addition to the Essential Cleansing Balm (normally priced at £24), you’ll also get a Supersize Lip Perfector (currently, a 10ml duo would cost you £25), a Supersize Absolute Eye Complex (the 15ml duo would currently set you back £42.50) and a Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50 (which comes in at £28).
If my A level maths serves me correctly, that’s coming in at £119.50, but for 24 hours only, from midnight to midnight on Thursday, you can get this all for under £40 (I can’t tell you the exact price until it actually goes on sale – it’s kept top secret and they won’t tell us) but at such a saving, does it really matter? All you need to know is that a) it’s under £40 and b) it’s definitely worth buying a couple of sets at this price, because who knows when you’ll get such great value again? (All prices quoted from the QVC website).
Now that you know you NEED to get this (set a reminder in your phone or you’ll kick yourself if you miss out), let’s talk a little bit more about the products (in case you’re an Alpha-H newbie).
The Essential Cleansing Balm is the newest launch and as a bit of a cleansing balm addict, I can honestly say this is one of the nicest, most nourishing and effective ones I’ve used in a long time. Packed full of essential oils, Rose Hip, Geranium and Sea Buckthorn to purify and remove toxins, it soothes the skin and dissolves makeup, dirt and grime without stripping the skin; in fact, this rose-infused balm actually replenishes moisture levels and and helps to prevent transepidermal water loss. It’s so nourishing in fact, that you’ll be forgiven for forgetting to put your moisturiser on!
The Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50 does what it says on the tin, and more. It’s sweat and water resistant and gives broad spectrum protection. The five high protection filters are blended with antioxidant Vitamin E, calming Aloe Vera and pure Cera Alba (a substance extracted from honeycomb). Locking in moisture, it supports the skin’s lipid barrier for longer lasting hydratoin, and most importantly (for me), it doesn’t leave that awful white tint on brown skin.
The Lip Perfector is a multi-tasking lip treatment, combining the protection and comfort of a balm with the skincare (or should that be lip care?) benefits of a lip serum. Not petroleum nor mineral oil based, it contains wild mint extract and peppermint extract for a very gentle tingling sensation, but it also contains zinc, which is great not only for its UV reflective properties, but it’s also very soothing. The serum element is great for really nourishing and is very repairing, so it’s great as an overnight lip treatment too.
The Absolute Eye Complex was, at one point in my life, the only thing I could use around my delicate eye area after having suffered a terrible allergic reaction to fragrance in an eye-cream. What can say about this eye cream without sounding evangelical? It’s super-light yet does everything you want an eye-cream to do. It’s very hydrating, thanks to the hyaluronic acid. It works deep down, thanks to the skin-lifting peptides that help to firm and reduce swelling. It works on fine lines, puffiness, hooded eyelids, dark circles and it gently (ever so gently) exfoliates the delicate skin around the eye, thanks to the mild flower acids derived from Hibiscus Petals. Tiny light reflecting particles add luminosity, diverting attention away from those pesky dark circles. And it’s perfect for both day and night – you can even pat it on over makeup during the day for a little pick-me-up.
So that’s the skinny on the upcoming TSV. If you want to know more or just to watch the gorgeous Tom Ogden on TV make sure to tune in at midnight (as Thursday rolls in), 7pm and 10pm for full hour slots and snippets of Alpha-H in the 9am, 1pm and 4pm shows. (SKY channel 650, Virgin channel 740, Freesat 800 and Freeview 16 – or just watch online at QVC).
Hope you manage to snag yourself a couple of sets before it sells out, my lovelies!
