I’ve always been obsessed with the world of ballet. From the total and utter dedication of a ballet dancer to their art to watching one of the world’s most beautiful forms of dance, I’ve been hooked since I was a little girl. So it was no surprise that I fell in love with Essie’s Ballet Nude collection.
Six beautiful shades that echo the dainty, ethereal world of ballet, each one new to Essie, they are perfect for spring, even if you’ve never performed a plie or releve in your life. Each one in the long wearing, super shiny Gel Couture formula, we have Satin Slipper and Lace Me Up, the two palest pinks, Hold The Position, a proper baby pink that I’m wearing the photos, Sew Me, a light brown peachy pink, At The Barre, a very pale tan colour that matches my skin tone perfectly and gives the illusion of the longest, most elegant fingers, and lastly, Perfect Posture, a pale Wedgewood blue that looks gorgeous in the sunshine.
Both my daughters gave up learning ballet at around the age of 5 or 6, and I don’t believe I’ll be heading to the barre anytime soon, so I guess I’ll fulfil my ballet fantasies with my Alaïa ballet pumps and Essie’s gorgeous ballet nudes collection.
