If like me, you’re always searching for that perfect nude, then it might be worth checking out the latest offering from bare Minerals, a brand that consistently sees a whole lot of love around these parts.
The latest launch is Gen Nude, a collection of 40 different shades, (some only imperceptibly different from each other, but sometimes that’s all takes to hit perfect) in a range of 4 different finishes, so it’s highly likely you’re going to find your perfect nude amongst them. Taking on Bobbi Brown at her game, this is a library of nudes that covers just about everyone.
There are 15 shades of the Radiant Lipstick, a creamy textured lipstick with a highly reflective radiant shine. I have it in the shade XOX, a lovely natural lip shade that feels like a balm on the lips. The coverage is, I would say, medium, although it is buildable, but beware when you build it up as this is a wet-ish lipstick so too much and it might slide over the lip-edge.
I’m in love with the Buttercream Lip Glosses which come in 10 shades. Super creamy, with the perfect amount of pigment, these can be worn on their own for a more natural look, or over the lipstick or matte lipstick for a high-gloss shine that stays put – this is not a lipgloss that travels past your lips. It feels like a very creamy balm, but the gloss payoff is incredible! Just the gloss with a lipliner layered underneath is more than enough for an everyday natural looking lip.
The Matte Liquid Lipcolour is a cream-to-matte formulation that feels oh-so-comfortable on the lips. Its not drying, doesn’t crack or look cakey after a few hours and just one coat is enough, no layering needed. Although I’ve been loving layering a very light shade (Cult) in the middle of the lips to give that ombre, lip-plumping effect.
I have this in the following shades, from left to right: Cult, Friendship (both Matte), Flirt, Fly (both Gloss). I’ve been using the Radiant Lipstick in XOX as mentioned above (it’s made its way into my everyday makeup bag), along with the Under Over Lipliner in Borderline (the lipliner is available in 5 shades). It’s a creamy, not waxy formula that feels so lightweight on the lips, perfect for perfecting that pout.
My current favourite combination (in the two photos above) is wearing Charlotte Tilbury’s Foxy Brown Lip Cheat Lipliner, Friendship Matte Liquid Lipstick all over the lips, with Cult layered on top – it gives me the perfect matte nude lip that doesn’t leave me looking washed out and half -dead as some nude shades can do.
For a more natural look, I’m loving the combination of Charlotte Tilbury’s Foxy Brown lipliner to outline, Bare Minerals Under Over Lipliner in Borderline all over the lips and a slick of the Bare Minerals Radiant Lipstick in XOX over the top; wearing the lipliner under the lipstick literally seems to triple the wear time!
I’ll be doing a little review of these new lip products sometime this week on instagram LIVE, which I’m totally loving by the way, so make sure to follow me on instagram HERE and if you’ve tried any of these, let me know what you think of them in the comments below.
Until next time…
