Even the most self assured of us sometimes feels a little less than 100% confident. I always find this especially true when it matters most – before a holiday or a big event, the self-doubt starts creeping in. Is my hair on point? Skin looking at its best? And am I feeling body confident? So as we plan the last of the summer getaways, I thought I’d share some of my favourite ways to feel on top of the world.
First and foremost, the easiest way to feel 100% more confident is to smile. You know that phrase, ‘smile and the world smiles with you’? It’s so true, just a smile and everything seems a little better, you feel more positive about just about everything and the best of it all – it’s free! And once you feel better about stuff, anything else that you might have been worrying about seems to fade away and you actually begin to enjoy yourself. Which just feeds into your confidence even more. See where it all started – with just a smile.
Sometimes, all it takes a quick blow dry, a slick of a bright lipstick and a spritz of my favourite perfume to make me feel I can face the day. Even when I might be full of lots of niggling insecurities inside, the right clothes, makeup and a pair of killer heels can almost feel like putting on a protective armour. In essence, I guess I’m saying present the best version of yourself, whatever that version means for you. For instance, I HATE the feeling wearing of shapewear like Spanx, but I know my insecurities, and I know that if I feel that my tummy isn’t looking as flat as it should in that body-con dress, I’ll jolly well wear that Spanx and make sure I’m feeling as confident as heck for that big event.
