Sunday is usually the day I reserve for a little me time – mostly because everyone else in the house has a little lie-in, so although I still have a houseful, it feels, at least for a short while, that I have the house to myself.
So although I’m lucky enough to use luxurious skincare everyday of the week, Sundays are the day when I’ll reach for the deep cleansing treatments, the masks and any other skincare products I reserve for time-rich days such as these. One of my favourite brands has long been Omorovicza, ever since that skin-changing facial at Harrods two years ago – yes, it was that memorable!
Some of my favourites that have earned their place in my bathroom include the Thermal Cleansing Balm, (here), a luxurious black balm that melts onto the skin to remove all impurities, dirt and grime in the gentlest manner possible; it even removes makeup up, (including eye makeup), without leaving the skin feeling tight or irritated. It does need to be removed with a hot damp cloth, so this is not the one I turn for for a quick cleanse.
Once a week, I look forward to a dose of the Deep Cleansing Mask (here). Not only does it smell divine (think clean and fresh), but the calcium and magnesium clears out congested pores and leaves my skin feeling ‘bright’ – I can’t think of a better word. My facialist (two years ago) recommended using a tiny amount as an overnight spot treatment, and for those pesky little blighters that pop up once in a while, it works a treat.
Newest into my Omorovicza stash is the the Hydra Melting Cleanser (here). This beautifully blue tri-phase has gone straight into my daily skincare routine for a little daily luxury (click here to see it in action). The gel-formulation smoothes onto the skin to transform into an deep cleansing oil, perfect for a little skin massage, and then, with the addition of water, turns into a milky emulsion that just washes away, leaving no residue on the skin. It’s chock-full of skin-loving goodies, such as mallow flower extra to hydrate and soothe, essential oils of sage, rose geranium and chamomile and skincare ingredient of the moment, sea buckthorn berry oil, full of vitamins A, C and E and Omega 7. My skin looks more radiant whenever I use this, so I’ve been using it every morning to set my skin up for the day.
And of course, leaving the best to last, how could I not tell you about my everyday favourite? A daily spritz of the Queen of Hungary Mist (click here and here to see it in action) and I feel ready to face the day. It leaves my skin ready to soak up any serum and moisturiser I apply over it. It comes with me in my handbag (decanted into a small, plastic spritz bottle) for a little skin-freshening pep-me-up when I’m on the go.
Past favourites (from a travel kit which you can see here) have included the Rejuvenating Night Cream and Illuminating Moisturiser, but now I think it’s time for me to explore other Omorovicza products – if you have any recommendations for me, let me know in the comments below.
And I’d love to hear about your pamper favourites for when you want to add a little luxury to your life too!
