Every year, Chanel’s Christmas collection has me excited! The eyeshadow quartet, the lipsticks, the eyeliners… they just get it perfectly right every time, and this year’s offering is no exception.
Rich purples and plums, lavish golds and glitters and dark vampy lipsticks alongside the perfect red – it’s all here in the Rouge Noir Holiday Makeup Collection, and I thought I’d pick out a few of my faves.
Of course, the Signe Particulier Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet is a must-have. Perfect for the festive season, there’s a yellow gold, a perfect-for-the-crease taupe, a pretty highlighting shade and a glorious purple shot through with black for dramatic smokey eyes this party season.
I couldn’t resist the Rouge Noir Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil – purple, dark and vampy enough for suitry eyes, but less intense than pure black. Paired with the Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in shade 57 Or Safran, this is the perfect gold to highlight the inner corner and works well to add intensity to the gold eyeshadow shade in the quartet.
I stayed away from the too-nude-for-me Vamporeuse lipstick as it just washed me out; likewise, I resisted the Rouge Noir lipstick. Although set to be a classic, I already have so many perfect dupes for the shade, so decided to be sensible and leave it at the counter. Instead, I stocked up on the Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in 437 La Merveilleuse, a shade I have already but have almost finished – yes, it’s that good!
And last but not least, it wouldn’t be a Rouge Noir collection without the classic Le Vernis Rouge Noir Nail Colour itself. I opted not to add the glitter top coat to my haul, although I’m sure I could easily be persuaded…
What would you pick, either for yourself or as a gift?
