Who doesn’t love to curl up with a good book? I’d be over the moon to find any one of these three beautiful beauty books on Christmas under the tree.
Lisa Eldridge’s Face Paint: The Story of Makeup is a must-have coffee table book for every beauty addict. a visual delight, the books looks at how beauty and our perception of it has changed through history, from ancient times, from around the world, though the ages, bringing it right to up date to the modern day, with all that cutting edge science has to offer in the world of makeup. And I totally love the fact that’s she’s included Meena Kumari as one of her beauty muses.
Lan Nguyen-Grealis’ Art & Makeup is another coffee table book that is a feast for the eyes. Marrying beauty with fashion and the arts until one merges into the other, I just can’t get enough of the stunning photographs; it’s the perfect inspirational tome for everyone, from aspiring makeup artists to makeup lovers.
Gary Cockerill is not just a self-taught celebrity makeup, he’s also one of the loveliest people I’ve met and that completely comes through in his book Simply Glamorous. Packed full of tutorials on how to achieve his signature glamorous look for everyone of every age and every skin tone, this is a must-have for anyone that uses makeup. I love that he features not only celebrities, but also real people including his mother and sister, with step-by-step instructions with clear photographs on how to achieve the look. There are also a few everyday, girl-next-door looks for when full on glamour is not the order of the day.
