Although I love the drama of a strong matte lip, there’s something ever-enduring about a soft, subtle sheen on the lips; it’s so easy and comfortable to wear, while giving an instant youthfulness to the face. As the weather turns colder, every dry lip crack and flake is magnified by a matte lip, so there are days when only a moisturising sheen will do.
So I’m currently loving the new Burberry Kisses Sheer for the ease of application, ability to stay in place (not always the case with sheeny, shiny lipsticks) and the pigment quotient is just perfect! Sheer enough for just a quick slick for the school run, but enough to build up to full coverage lip colour without looking like you’ve caked on the lippie. There’s a slight stain effect which I love to keep the colour on the lips even after the gloss has faded. They’re moisturising too, thanks to the addition of lavender and rosehip in the formulation.
Burberry Kisses Sheer are not a new formulation, but from 1st November there are some new shades joining the line-up and they’re definitely worth checking out, especially if you’ve never tried a Burberry lipstick. The super-sleek magnetic cases are fabulous for making sure your lipstick doesn’t open up at the bottom of your bag. There are 28 shades in total, ranging from the nudest of nudes to the brightest, most glamourous red, with just about every shade you can think of of ranging in between. My everyday shade is Tea Rose, which you’ll definitely have seen all over my instagram (click here), whilst Hibiscus is a lovely pink that looks great with a nude eye. For night-time, I’ve been turning to the full-on glamour of Crimson Pink.
If you’ve been wanting to try a bolder lip for the Fall and Winter season, but are shying away from the look-at-me matte formulations, I’d definitely recommend trying these out for a generous hit of colour with all the youthfulness of a moisturising shimmering sheen.
