You know me and my hair…. always a complaint or two. But recently there’s been a little love fest going on and here’s why.
First off, I’ve been back on the Viviscal again for the last couple of months and I can seriously see the difference already. I take one in the morning and one at night, with no other supplements picking up the slack. Want to know how I know it’s making a difference already? My roots are showing my faster (a bittersweet result) and my eyelashes are also looking rather lush too! Another welcome side effect is that my nails definitely feel stronger. I’m going to continue taking two a day for the next couple of months and then take it back to one a day as recommended.
You know I love my hair masks – from the Philip Kingsley Elastizer (here) to the Vatika Night Repair Hair Cream (here), there’s nothing as good for my hair as a good ol’ mask! My most recent find is the Toni & Guy label.m Honey & Oat Treatment Mask. Just very thought of this mask had me drooling – the ingredients are known to be deeply moisturising and exactly what I used in my DIY face mask (read more about that here). This one is as yummy as it sounds – it was all I could do not to taste it! From the very first use, I could see the difference it made to my hair – my blow dry looked more bouncy, my hair was shiny right through to the very ends (unusual for me!) and it was a pleasure to use – not sticky and hard to pull through my hair like same masks can be. I’ve even been leaving my hair to air-dry naturally after using this (you use it once every 3-4 washes) as it’s really minimised the frizz. It’s really quick to use too – just rinse out after a few minutes, so no walking around the house for twenty minutes with my hair wrapped in clingfilm (such a good look!) There are two types of honey in this: Royal Black and Luhua, along with Baobab Oil African Myrrh and Plum Kernal – all of which combine to make such a yummy scent – like spiced honey. I just wish the pot was bigger as I’ll be using this religiously – I’ll be repurchasing this very soon, along with the shampoo and conditioner too!
When it comes to styling, I’ve been using two products that make all the difference to getting frizz-free. Straight out of the shower, I’ll towel dry and then spray my whole head with the Nicky Clarke 220 Degree Heat Protector Spray to make sure my hair is protected from the damaging effects of blow-drying. It’s got nourishing extracts of macademia (an oil I’ve been meaning to try on my hair) and patchouli oil, so it smells lovely too. I’ll then put two or three drops of my all time favourite oil, the SHOW BEAUTY Pure Treatment Oil. Most hair oils I would only apply from mid-lengths to ends, but this one doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or lank, so I take it right from roots to tips to make sure my style is shiny and frizz-free. After styling in the usual way, I’ll run another drop of the SHOW BEAUTY hair oil through my hair again to give me shine and extra definition.
I’m always on the lookout for hair saviours, so feel free to leave me your tried-and-trusted recommendations below!
