NEW IN: Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Now, I know this is not “new in” if you live States-side, but for us UK gals, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette is finally available in-store today – yay!

Devotees of the Urban Decay Naked palettes won’t even bother to check the shades – if you’re a Naked palette person, you’ll want this for your collection straight away. But there are two schools of thought on that one – if you already have Nakeds 1, 3 and 3 (as I do, of course!) then do you need Smoky?  And if you don’t have any Nakeds at all, then is this the one to go for?

At first glance, it’s a beaut. There are nine new shades and three exclusives, including warm bronzes, rich browns, greys, a smouldering purple-black and a satin black. A couple of matte transitional shades sit nicely alongside the satins and slightly more sparkle-y shades. It’s almost like a mash up of Nakeds 1 and 2, with a shade from 3 thrown in for good measure. As we’ve come to expect from Urban Decay, the shadows are nicely pigmented, apply creamily on to the skin and staying power is as good as ever.

I’ll be uploading a video tutorial on using this palette in the next couple of days, so make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel here (click this link) but in the meantime, here are some photos to drool over.

I’ve photographed it for you alongside the other three Nakeds, and also alongside the Urban Decay Smoked Palette in case you already have that one and want to compare.

Will you be buying this? What do you think of the Naked series? Can you resist?

In the past, I’ve generally tended to avoid eye shadows just because I often feel clownish whenever I wear them. But, recently’ I’ve started to explore subtle tones. Quite liking the Naked palettes, but for being someone new to them, I think I would go for 2 and 3 first. Number 3 especially looks gorgeous with the pink and gold-tinged colours! Lovely photos of all the palettes.

Hi Mara – thanks for your comment 🙂 I’d say Naked three is my all time favourite so far, but I’m getting to love Smoky too!
