In some of my more recent instagram photos, I’ve been sporting a bigger, rounder bambi-eyed look and it hasn’t gone unnoticed… you’re a very observant lot out there! So to answer your questions as to what I’ve been doing differently, here’s the low-down.
There are lots of ways to make your eyes look bigger (leave me a comment below if you fancy a video tutorial), and the white or flesh coloured pencil is just one of them. Used on the lower waterline, it literally opens up the eye, but that’s not all. I’ll sometimes use it in the inner and out corners too, to open up the eye even more – paired with carefully placed eyeliner, it’s amazing how it can give the eye a much bigger appearance. Key to this is obviously a really good waterproof eyeliner.
Until recently, I’d been using my Kevyn Aucoin The Eye Pencil Primatif in Basic, but recently I’ve been trying out out the Barry M Bold White Waterproof Eyeliner and it’s been working just as well. It’s just as waterproof, (perhaps even more so!), just as pigmented, although maybe not as creamy, and without the smudger at the other end, but for a price difference of £17 I’d say this is a pretty worthy dupe.
Let’s share our dupe recommendations – leave a comment below with your favourite budget-buy swaps and let’s learn from each other!
