There are those days when you just don’t want to don a full face of makeup, but you don’t want to scare your DHL delivery man either. Today is one of those days. I needed a little something-something to even out the cracks, but nothing that looked like I had anywhere important to be. (With hindsight, and after looking at these photos, I think I’d take the time to use a primer, just to disguise those pores!)
So with the help of just these four products (and a brush), here’s what’s on my face today.
Zelens Z Luminous Brightening Serum: Now I know this is skincare, not makeup, but I’ve been using this in my daily skincare routine for a while now, (click to see it in my recent favourites video here) and I love the clarifying, brightening effect it’s had on my skin – so much so that I feel confident enough to do the afternoon school run without covering my skin in makeup.
Makeup Forever HD Concealer: Well, obviously I needed concealer. I mean, obviously! With all these early morning starts, trying to get out for a run before waking the kids and starting the whole school palaver, the one-hour-less-of-sleep a day is beginning to take its toll on my under-eye area. So I turned to one of my favourite creamy concealers, (check back tomorrow for a full post all about Makeup Forever and some very exciting news!), to hydrate, brighten and lighten around the eyes. And then a little dab was needed to conceal a bit of pigmentation around the mouth and around the eyelids…
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush: …all blended beautifully with one of my favourite foundation brushes. When all that’s on my skin is a little concealer, I needed a brush that’s going to get the best coverage I can possibly get, so my Sigma Brush was a no brainer.
Max Factor Wild Mega Volume Mascara: With its hourglass shaped brush, the ultra black volumising formula is perfect for defining the lashes, giving them curl and length into the bargain.
Zoeva Lipstick: When there’s not much else going on, a bright mouth is the perfect way to bring the face to life. Pressed in with a finger tip, I used this blue-based semi-matte pink more as a stain than a full-on lipstick. It’s matte enough to stay on for ages, but creamy enough to keep my lips comfortable for hours on end.
Ready to face the day in just four products? I could get used to this!
