New Year, New Hair

You know the deal with my hair – I’ve been on the case for the last six months or so, doing all I can to get it back into shape, into the peak of luxurious health and basically making it my beauty-related priority.

If you’re anything like me, once you find a hairdresser that you and your hair like, you tend to stick to him or her, arranging your life around their schedules so as not to have to trust your treasured barnet to anyone else. Or is that just me?

So in the run up to New Year’s Eve, I made the almighty mistake forgetting to book in to see my hairdresser, resulting in the epic fail of not being able to get an appointment with her until 2nd January – totally useless to me for my pre-party prep. So I did the unthinkable. I cheated on my hairdresser. I started seeing someone else.

Now, if you’re going to cheat on your hairdresser, I throughly recommend you take precautions. Ask friends whose hair you admire – word of mouth recommendation is the only way to go. Pre-New Years Eve Party is not the time to take unnecessary risks! And so it was that I was whisked away by a good friend to her preferred hairdresser, to risk it all, and I mean all – colour, cut and blow-dry.

And all I can say is…I’m so pleased I did! Sometimes it can be useful to get a set of fresh eyes (and hands) on the case; I couldn’t be happier with the result. It may not seem like a big change to you, but the colour has been made darker (dramatically so) and the cut has left my hair looking thicker, fuller and healthier. And I’m rather chuffed with the blow-dry too.

What do you guys think of it?

ps here’s a quick ‘before’ – see what I mean!
