CHANEL eyeshadow Quad Poesie_

New season Chanel makeup always sets my heart a flutter but this autumn, it’s really only the eyeshadow quartet that’s got me all-a-quiver. Try as I might, I couldn’t get myself excited about the new season’s nail colours and the other products weren’t about to fill any holes in my makeup stash – shocking for me, but great for my bank balance!

The eyeshadow quartet in question is the new Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra 234 in Poésie. You know how much I loved (and still do) the summer quad Tisse Vendome, (watch me use it in this video here), and this new one looks set to take over for the coming months. As always, there are three standout shades for me, and one which I fear will not get much use, but for those three shades, it’s worth the money.

A golden taupe-y bronze with a hint of mauve (sounds weird but trust me, it really works) is perfect just swept over the eyelid, (top left). It’s the hint of mauve that takes this firmly and squarely into autumnal territory. Paired with the deliciously shimmering chocolate brown, (bottom right), also with a hint of mauve running through it, this is my autumnal eye done. A hint of the vanilla shade (bottom right) with a tint of lilac in it, to highlight the centre of the eyelid and inner corner and I’m all set. The creamy yellow-ish beige (top right) is not my fave, but I use it to blend the other shades together and to tone down the incredibly pigmented dark brown if I’ve been a bit too heavy handed.

Comment below if you’d like to see a tutorial on how I use this over on my YouTube channel here, and let me know your fave autumnal makeup picks – I feel like going shopping!
