Mascaras and me…it’s an ongoing love affair, but not one that I can say is a monogamous one. I love trying out new formulas, new brushes and and just all-round newness…so these are the latest to go into my daily rotation.
Miners Maxi Volumising Mascara in Carbon Black – kicking off with the cheapest of the bunch, this really packs a punch for its price. Two coats obligatory for the lush lash look I hanker after, but if you’re on a budget, this is definitely one to try.
Surratt Beauty Pointilliste Mascara in Noir – yes, yet more raving about the Surratt Beauty makeup range! This was love at first flick; jet black, seriously lengthening and volumising, yet no clumpiness or cakeiness. The teeny weeny little brush makes it a godsend for the lower lashes, yet it deals with the upper lashes just as well. And the best bit? It’s super easy to remove with warm water, so no tugging or pulling at my treasured lashes.
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara in Black – Woah! That’s a huge claim to make! Check back for a full review and swatches on this very soon, but heads up, it does just about everything it claims – intensely black, volumises, curls and lengthens. And did you check out the hourglass shaped brush?
CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel Sophistique in Violet Touch – Now you may think that with black eyelashes such as mine that this would be a waste of money as it wouldn’t even show up. You’d be wrong. Worn either as my main mascara, or just wiggled onto the ends (that’s obviously the technical term!) this adds the perfect flash of colour on an otherwise neutral eye. Added to a purple-hue shaded eye, this gives serious evening glamour. Now if only I were blessed with Elizabeth Taylor’s violet eyes and her natural double layer of lashes….sigh!
