Summer is the perfect time to get all fresh-faced and natural, so who better to turn to than Paul & Joe Beauty for a selection of makeup must-haves in the cutest packaging ever! Especially when the make up is versatile enough to intensify and get dramatic when needed.
This week I am mostly wearing their cute Eye Colour Trio in Night Café which contains the perfect natural looking gold for my eyelids and the most intense carbon black shadow I’ve yet to lay my hands on. On its own (paired with a slick of black mascara) the gold shade is perfect for the naturally-beautiful eye that looks perfectly fresh and glowy. Ramped up with a dose of the black shadow along the lash line, gives it the drama it needs for a summer evening out, the combined look reminiscent of a modern day 1960’s feel. Both shades are creamy and pigmented, easy to apply and great wear-time, sadly, not something I can honestly say about the third shade. The glitter is just a little too big for my liking and it doesn’t apply as creamily either.
My lips are wearing the beautiful baby pink Peony Lipstick, which just adds to the swinging sixties feel even more.
I always find Paul & Joe nail polishes slightly quirky and this collection is no exception. I tried, I really did, to like Buttercup, the yellowy-orange shade, but it’s just not me. I think if I’m going to go orange, it needs to be more in-yer-face! But I did love the two glitter shades; Petunia, a dainty pink with rose gold smaller flecks, the other Hyacinth, a translucent blue, sparkling with blues and greens and slightly larger flecks – perfect for would-be mermaids this summer!
