Call me shallow, but if I’m going to see a facialist, I like to see that their skin is looking good. Go on, be honest, I’m sure you’re all the same? So as soon as I meet Antonia Burrell at her clinic in Notting Hill for a facial, you know I’m in good hands. Literally. Her skin is literally glowing; radiant and luminous – exactly what I want for my skin.
After a chat about my skin concerns, it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty. Cleanse, cleanse, and cleanse again is the mantra, along with some microdermabrasion, lymphatic drainage and a whole load of quite serious facial massage thrown in for good measure. My face felt like it had undergone a serious workout with weights – tight, toned and glowing. Antonia tailors each and every bespoke facial to not only each client, but the skin’s needs at that particular time, so what she used on me that day may well differ to my next appointment, and most certainly likely to differ from what she might use on you.
After a little sneak peak of her new eye cream to come (be still my beating heart) I stepped out into the Notting Hill sunshine without a scrap of makeup and not a care in the world to go with it. I’ve been a big fan of her skincare products for such a long time (aka since she launched her eponymous skincare line), so it was a real treat to have a facial at her hands, and definitely something I’d recommend in a a heartbeat if you’re looking to give your skin a treat.
