Travel Diaries: The Skincare Edit

Holiday Skincare

If there’s one thing I hate about travel, it’s that I can’t be as scrupulous about my skincare as I normally am. Much as I’d like to, I just can’t cart around all the products I’d like to have at my fingertips. And when those awful 100ml hand luggage rules come into play, it’s so much harder to take what I need. So bravo for all those minis, sample and travel sizes that I keep stashed away just for days like these.

Although I have to admit I cheated on my morning option with the 150ml of Elemis Pro Radiance Cleanser, which I left behind after last year’s holiday just for this very reason, everything else fitted into my cabin luggage. Evening cleansing with Antonia Burrell’s Natural Glow Cleansing Oil removed all trace of makeup and impurities, including eye makeup and waterproof mascara, all wiped away with an Emma Hardie Lift & Sculpt Microfibre Cleansing Cloth. Morning and night, sun-parched skin was rehydrated with a spritz of The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Mist, followed by some serious hydration in the form of Antonia Burrell’s Radiant Light Facial Serum. Moisture, hydration, tightness and firming around the eyes came from the gel-like consistency that is the Alpha-H Absolute Eye Complex.

Morning moisture came from the gentle skin-balancing Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre (and at any time during the day for a boost of moisture) while Antonia Burrell’s Cream Supreme Moisturiser worked its wonders overnight.

And that was it. Pared down to the bare minimum, skincare at its best.

Although I’ll admit to rushing to a DIY facial the minute I got back into my London home…

xXx
