Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish

Now you may already know the Deborah Lippmann brand as I know you lot are a well travelled bunch. But just in case this has passed you by, US brand Deborah Lippmann’s eponymous range of nail colours has relaunched in the UK and heads up – they are a nail lover’s dream. Dinky little bottles that house a well made, easy to use brush with colours and formulas you’ll be dying to get onto your nails. I’d seen so much good stuff about them from all those lucky US-based beauty mavens, so when I heard they had come to Selfridges, (also on Look Fantastic and Beauty Bay for all you online shopping addicts), I needed very little persuasion to get myself down there pronto and bring a few home with me.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream Nail Polish

Unusually for me, the first one I couldn’t wait to try wasn’t the creme classics of nude Modern Love or the deep plum of Dark Side of the Moon. Noooo, it was the mesmerising Mermaid’s Dream. Unlike many other glitters, it goes on so smoothly – one coat is enough for an ethereal finish, two coats for this full on aqua look. And I just couldn’t resist the dinky little glittery bag containing minis of the top and base coat, even though I’ve got loads of others knocking around at home. Fast Girls Base Coat does the job admirably well, but it’s Addicted to Speed Top Coat that’s the star of the show. Drying in superfast time, with a fabulous gloss finish, I may well be buying this in full size when my Seche Vite and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat runs out. As long as I can get used to the overpowering smell… hope that’s not addictive, in the wrong way!

Have you tried any of the Deborah Lippmann colours yet? Let me know what you think of them…and which other colours I need to be adding to my collection!

Never tried Deborah Lippmann, but Mermaid’s Dream looks good and bang on SS14 candy coloured pastel trend.
