Mention the words “body butter” to most girlies my age and we are thrown hurtling back to our teenage years when The Body Shop provided a weekly pilgrimage destination and never a month went by without at least one body butter finding it’s way into the shopping basket. Mango, coconut, cocoa butter…you know the ones.
Fast forward to today, and there’s still very little that hits the spot as perfectly as a body butter when it comes to moisturising parched winter skin. I’m normally fiendish when it comes to body moisturising – I’d rather be late for an appointment than not moisturise when I step out of the shower. But right now, when the winter seems to have taken hold with no sign of letting go, my normal body lotion just ain’t cutting it. So I’m completely loving DHC Olive Body Butter (here) for coming to the rescue. Thick to the point of being almost solid, this one takes some working into the skin, but boy, is it worth the effort. Super moisturising (my skin still feels soft at the end of the day) and luxurious, it manages to be deeply hydrating without being sticky – no battling with skinny jeans getting stuck on the legs. And no real fragrance to speak, so nothing to clash with my perfume. Packed full of goodies like shea and cocoa butters, olive, coconut, avocado, argan and squalane oils, I think I could get a little addicted.
Now, if I could just have a little more time in the mornings please?
