The Hair: HER Haircare Rituals

OK, so I’ll be the first to admit I’m a bit of a makeup/haircare/skincare snob. If I have the choice, I’ll go high-end every time, for a brand with pedigree, history and proven results. Same goes for my drug-store choices too, the results of which you can see here. But even a marketer’s dream like me (Mr H’s words, not mine!) would be stupid to ignore new innovations and new brands when they are addressing my key concerns, whatever the price point.

So I was really excited to try out the new range from John Barrowman’s HER Haircare Rituals that promised to give me untold volume without compromising on hair hydration and repair. My two holy grails, as you’ll already know, if you seen this!

Developed in Italy by some very handsome Italians, (I’m sold already!) at the glorious Villa Floriani, this is luxurious yet hardworking haircare at a surprisingly affordable price (it’s being sold on QVC, more on which later).

I’ve tried, I’ve tested and I’ve evaluated, the verdict is in and I’m delighted to report that it delivers on all counts with no reservations. Currently four goodies in the lineup, (plans are already afoot to add to the range in the New Year), each little treasure thoroughly deserves its own post, but to keep things more immediate, I think a paragraph on each will have to suffice.

300 Trecento Hair Repairing Pre-Wash Treatment
First off, let me just say, given the choice, I’ll always opt for a pre-wash treatment that I can apply before I step into the shower, rather than a mask that has me shivering and wet for five minutes (or more) post-shampoo while I wait for it do its magic. This luxurious thick pale yellow cream, packed full of nourishing oils is applied to damp hair (I just run a wet brush through my hair) for five minutes before you wash your hair. Not only is that five minutes of your life not wasted, but when it says five minutes it really means five minutes. Literally. 300 seconds is enough to transform the hair to its virginal state, before it got coloured, tonged, straightened and generally damaged to within an inch of its life. Yes, we’re ALL guilty. And yes, this really does what it promises. Don’t ask me how, it just does! If you follow me on Twitter (here), I’ll be posting a photo of what it did for my daughter’s hair, and that’s so long, it’s past her bottom!

Volumising Shampoo & Conditioner
These rich formulas (the shampoo contains Almond Protein, the conditioner contains Aloe Leaf Juice) smell clean and fresh, cleanse the hair beautifully without stripping it of its natural sebum, leaving it feeling fuller and lighter without compromising on the hydration element – my holy grail! Smoother, shinier, bouncier….what more can a girl ask for?

Volumising Powder
Ok, so yes, we can always ask for more volume! So this genius little powder is perfect for adding that extra oomph. Applied to the roots, the powder literally acts like a Playtex bra (John Barrowman’s words, not mine!) as the powder magically attaches itself to the hair fibres to “lift and separate”, adding volume where you need it. Basically, this is backcombing in a bottle. What makes this different to other volumisers? The fact that this is not constrained to only the roots – use along the hair length too to add volume all over. And if you’ve got to the end of a long hard day, and need a little boost before you head on out for the evening (or just to make sure you look good in photos, haha!) just rub your fingers along the root line to reactivate the volume-boosting properties all over again. While not drug store prices when bought on their own (the shampoo and conditioner are £15 & £17, Trecento is £26 and the Volumising Powder £14) these hair-must-haves are due to be on QVC on a special offer  TSV (a special value package that brings together a selection of products at a greatly reduced price) on Wednesday 28th November. (I’m talking almost £70’s worth of product for under £30!!!)

With numbers like that, it’s a bit of a no brainer, especially when you take into account QVC’s 30-day no-quibble return policy. If I were you, I’d make sure you tune in (even if it’s just to see the the very lovely and loveable John Barrowman do his thing – the offer will only be available for 24 hours at the special price!

xXx
