There’s nothing I love better than mooching around a beauty emporium to see what goodies I can unearth. Even better when I’m on holiday; the thrill of finding a new or relatively unknown brand never fades and sometimes, I truly find a jewel that I wonder how I lived without.
Case in point: the Louse Young Essential Eye Palette, discovered on a recent girlie trip to Mallorca. Drawn to a darling little shop in Peurto Portals called Specific Apothecary (that bore more than a passing resemblance to Space NK), this perfect neutrals palette caught my eye, and I just couldn’t leave without it.
I’ve talked in more detail about this palette in my latest What’s In My Handbag video, which you can see HERE. This über-slimline palette houses the perfect selection of five matte eyeshadows that work like a dream, either worn on their own or together for day and night appropriate eyes. The darker brown shade would work so well as a brow powder on someone with a fairer complexion than mine, and all the shades are perfect as shadow liners too! The sable brush is compact enough to really lay down colour where you want it, while being just fluffy enough to blend and shade like a pro. And if you think I’ve waxed lyrical for long enough, let me just tell you, the mirror is perfect for on the go touch-ups, and wide enough to be able to see both eyes at the same time – essential for checking to see if your make-up is symmetrical!
If you’re not planning a trip to the sunny island of Mallorca any time soon, don’t worry. You can pick this up in Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Fenwick and quite a few other locations, as as online, of course! (You can find the full list of stockists here). Best known for her brushes, this is definitely a brand I intend to explore further!
