This week I was lucky enough to be invited to The Dorchester Hotel (to the penthouse, no less!) for a little peak at the new treasures coming our way this Spring and Summer from Terry de Gunzberg’s epnoymous colletion, By Terry. I’m already a huge fan of her products – anything vaguely smelling of roses is always going to get my vote and her Sheer Expert and Cover Expert Foundations are always going to have a place on my dressing table. Add to that the multi-tasking aspect of each and every product she launches and it’s hard to say no to anything that comes at me from the By Terry brand.
So these are the goodies that I’ll be aching to get my hands on this summer. A new primer using the same hyaluronic technology as her previous primers, but the new Hyaluronic Summer Bronzing Hydra-Veils, (£44 each), available in 3 shades, are tinted for the perfect summer glow. Medium Tan is the one I’ll be going for, and it’s got such great coverage that I can skip the foundation for a really lightweight summer makeup. I love the whipped, mousse-like texture, it literally feels like you’re applying a light foam to the skin and it blends across the skin so easily for a beautiful velvet like finish. The limited edition Hyluronic Blush (£28), also has the same whipped foam texture that gives the cheek beautiful veil of colour that’s buttery soft, is almost translucent on the skin and is a welcome matte cheek shade in a sea of shimmers and sheens. The lighter shade, Peach Posh, is matte with a slight gold-flecked glitter to it, while Blushberry, the darker shade, is truly, beautifully matte.
I’ve always thought I should try a coloured mascara, and I think this the year I’ll do it! By Terry’s new Growth Booster Mascara in Dark Forest (£31), a deep, almost black-ish green has all the lash-boosting properties we’ve come to expect from By Terry, but with an added flash of emerald, THE colour of the year, with every blink! I’m not really into the idea of a forest running down my cheeks, so I’ll be pairing this with the clever new waterproof mascara top coat, the Lash-Coat Mascara Aqua Proof Topping Coat (£28). A clear gel-like formula that can be used over any brand of mascara, not necessarily only a By Terry one, it shapes and curls the lashes, adding definition, shine and a waterproof element to the lashes that means I can dive into the pool without wondering if mascara will end up on my cheekbones. And because it contains the all the goodness of By Terry mascaras without the colour pigment, it can be used safely on the lashes on its own as an overnight treatment, according to the very lovely Alban, Head of Education at By Terry.
And there’s a whole host of fabulous colours coming in the form of 12 Lip Sheers, each a highly pigmented lip balm with SPF 10, a new nail treatment base and two new jelly-style nail laques in very juicy colours perfect for Spring; a vibrant orange and a perfect purple, which shall be mine!
So that’ll be me all By Terry’d out this summer!
