Last week I went out of London to visit my mother, with no plans other than to veg-out at home and spend hours chatting and catching up with her. So of course, no make up was needed. Obviously, with my #ALipADay self-imposed challenge, I had to take eight lipsticks with me for the eight days I was there, but other than that, we are talking M.I.N.I.M.A.L!!
Luckily, I happened to have, in my tardis of a handbag, a new Eyeko mascara that I’d bought and still been meaning to try out, and a gorgeous Laura Geller blusher kicking around at the bottom of the bag. I say luckily, as it turned out I had to meet someone for lunch, and my naked face was just not going to cut it.
As I had to be in Boots to replenish my mother’s shampoo and conditioner, I quickly bought myself the cheapest eyeliner I could find (only because I’ve got so many lying around at home, it felt rude to buy and duplicate an expensive one), Of course it was sold out in black, so I opted for the next darkest shade available – a sable brown Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner by Rimmel.
That’s all I had to play with. A mascara that I had yet to try out, a blusher, a quickly bought eyeliner and one of 8 lipsticks to choose from – I went for Kate Moss Matte for Rimmel in 110 – a current favourite.
I used the brown eyeliner on the upper lid, two coats of mascara on the upper lashes, used the blusher as a contouring shade and a slick of the lippie.
So that’s it – my beauty on the go.
What do you think? What the least number of products you’ve used to put together a whole face?
