I first discovered Hourglass Cosmetics while I was trying to fill in time between meetings and found myself wafting around the beauty hall at Liberty. Instead of just “window shopping”, I found myself buying a whole face of make-up from this American brand, including primer, foundation, lipstain, lip gloss, blusher, bronzer and this eye palette, amongst many other things.
The Hourglass Vol 6 Palette in Neo-Classic has fast become my favourite eye palette of all time, if regularity of use is anything to go by. I’ve already mentioned it in many Face of The Day (FOTD) posts on this blog. Although my NARS Naked palette has just about every neutral eye shade you might need, this is pared down to just six shades, which include a highlighter and a black shade which is perfect for lining.
It’s so portable too, and as with all Hourglass eyeshadows, the powders are so finely milled they almost blend just by looking at them, making soft, dreamy eyes super-easy to recreate. The pigments are really intense, so you only need a tiny bit and you can easily build them up to create a dramatic evening effect.
Oh, and I mustn’t forget to mention the fabulous 360º full-size swivel mirror that it comes in the lid, which makes makeing-up on the go a doddle. (It’s the same swivel mirror you get in the bronzer, powder and foundation compacts, and even in the eyeshadow duos too.)
And the double ended-brush it comes with is such great quality, you don’t really need anything else, (well, perhaps a fine eyeliner brush if you want a really precise line.)
I also have an Hourglass eye-shadow duo that’s fabulous too, the same blend-ability that makes adding a couple more palettes to my collection in the near future a no-brainer.
The palette is also available online at Liberty HERE.
Have you tried Hourglass Cosmetics? If you have, which are your favourites?
