An overdue face post… possibly because I feel so self conscious writing these?
Anyway, enough of the ‘sharing’…
For a recent Black Tie affair, I decided to go for the whole Riviera/Dolce girl look – you know, big hair, heavy on the eyes, gloss on the lips… a 1960’s Sophia Loren was my inspiration.
Obviously, I left the hair to my hairdresser, I couldn’t do my hair like this in a month of Sundays. So, after some blowdrying, rollers and backcombing, we got the look I was after.
And this was the face:
What I used:
Primer: Bare Minerals Prime Time, applied with fingers
Foundation: Photo Flawless Foundation by No 17, MAC Foundation Brush
Concealer: Conceal FX, Hourglass concealer brush
Eyeshadow: Bare Mineral Clear Radiance on the lids, Daniel Sandler Matte
Eyeshadow 238 in the crease (quite possibly my favourite
eyeshadow of all time), Smashbox Precision Brush for both
Eyeliner: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar on upper lids, Bobbi
Brown Fine Eyeliner Brush, Hourglass brown from Vol.6 Palette on
lower lids, Smashbox Arced Liner Brush No. 21
Mascara: Peep Show by No 17, two coats on upper lashes, one coat on lower
Cheeks: MyFace Blusher in Night Fever, Bare Minerals Blusher in Giddy used as a
highlighter, Daniel Sandler Angled Blusher Brush for both
Lips: Bare Minerals Lipstickin Parfait, straight from the bullet, MAC Lip Liner in Spice, Bare Mineral Natural Lip Gloss in 7 Layer Cake
And that was about it!
As you can see, not too many products and a relatively simple makeup that only took me around ten minutes to do, but suitably “done up” for the occasion I was attending.
I’d just had my eyebrows HD’d, (a separate post on that coming soon!), so I literally didn’t touch them.
If I’d had time, I would have put some false lashes on to really finish the look off properly…. ah well, next time!
