OPI Nicki Minaj Nails

Apologies for the rather haphazard application – I wanted to get this up as soon as I got the colours to show you

I have SO many nails colours to try out and show you, so I thought I’d show you a few of the colours from the new Nicki Minaj collection from OPI in one fell swoop.

Now, I’m not really a huge fan of Nicki’s music.  Actually, I find her quite annoying (her fans will be clicking off right about now), but I had to try her nails colours as they looked right on trend for the summer months.

I bought the Minis set, which comprises:

Did It On ‘Em – a lime green, with the emphasis on green (more so than is apparent in the photo)
Fly – a deep teal
Pink Friday – an opaque bubblegum pink
Metallic 4 Life – a charcoal-ish black with silver glitter within

I’ve used three coats in the photo above for all three colours, although Pink Friday didn’t need it, and Fly definitely didn’t.  The other two colours, Did It On ‘Em and Metallic 4 Life definitely did, and in fact, I think that the lime shade, Did It On ‘Em, would actually benefit from a fourth coat.

I bought the set predominately for the pink bubblegum shade, but I have to say, I’m loving the teal shade too, especially as it perfectly matches a recent J Brand trouser purchase!  I’ll definitely use the charcoal black shade too, but the lime shade will probably never see the light of day after this blog post.

But that’s the beauty of the mini sizes, isn’t it.  I don’t feel stupid having wasted around £10 on a shade I’ll never wear, and I’m sure I’ll find someone to give it to for who my nail hell is their nail nirvana.

What do you think? Do you like the eclectic range of shades? Would you buy it just because it’s La Minaj? Or does that put you off entirely?

PS – apparently, all the shades are named after track titles from her latest album, but that’s completely lost on me, as I can’t stand her music.

Wow they are pretty radical colours. Must admit I’m not usually a fan of OPI but this collection has got me excited x :o)

I’m normally quite staid in my colour choices too, but these have got me going too! And on second thoughts, I quite like the green shade – lovely for the summer!
