Battle Plan BOOB*

No….. it’s not what you think it is, despite the previous blog post (which you can read here).

I’m about to confess.  I wear black.  Too much.  All the Time. Top to Toe.  Everyday.  Day to Night.  Whether you bump into me in the day, doing errands, attending press launches, having lunch with friends, or even doing the school run, you’d make money betting I’ll be dressed head-to-toe in black.  And don’t even get me started on my evening wear… black, black, and for a change, how about some more black.

Guilty as charged.

Exhibit One: My normal Daytime Look, come rain or shine

Exhibit Two: My normal Evening Look

Exhibit Three: Even More Evening Looks (spot the difference? No, I can’t either)

I think you get the picture without more gratuitous photos of me dressed in black?

Basically, I have no defence, M’Lord.

And it seems I’m not the only one.  The more I talk to friends and colleagues, they all say they’re guilty of the same thing.  Thing is, it’s just so easy! You know that whatever you take out of the wardrobe, bleary eyed in the morning with just ten minutes to get ready, it’ll all just “go” together. And we all know how slimming it can be!

But enough is enough.

So I’m launching “Battle Plan BOOB” – Break Out Of Black” –  and I’d love you to join me in my campaign to wear more colour.  After all, Spring is around the corner (well, in theory anyway) so what better excuse?

So on Saturday, passing TopShop, I went in and did a mini-haul.  Well, if I’m going to experiment with colour, I don’t want to spend a bucket-load, in case I chicken out and leave the clothes languishing at the back of the wardrobe (or worse still, never even take them out of the bag)!

And this is my little TopShop haul:
L-R: 4 T-shirts in green, blue, purple and pink, shocking pink and orange silk T-shirt (only £5 – bargain!), orange jumper with motif (by Illustrated People) and salmon knit top, worn below
So far, I’ve managed to wear two of the things I bought since Saturday, and it’s only Monday so far, so that can’t be bad!
Knitted top by TopShop, £16
Well, OK, I’m still wearing black leggings, but be patient with me; little steps…
Jumper by Illustrated People £50
What do you think? Will join me in “Battle Plan BOOB? Will you be wearing colour this season? Have you always worn colour – if so, sling some tips my way!!! Or will you be sticking to black?

Let me know in the comments below – I’d love to hear what you think.

Black and white are my favourite….but I wear all colors….sometime blood red and it really suit me.

Never really worn blood red – perhaps I should try it for trousers or a skirt? I feel that it would drain me if I wore it too close to my face?

Thanks, Jay, some days are better than others, some days I’m still in black, but I’m still trying!!
