I haven’t started thinking about writing all the Christmas cards yet, never mind the buying all the Christmas presents, but I’m already lusting after the new colours due to be launched next Spring.
First up is the delightfully named Candy Face by Yves Saint Laurent. Pastels reign supreme, which is no big surprise for the Spring collections, but these really look good enough to eat – almost like those little sweets you wear on your wrist in the elasticated bracelet – you know the ones I mean!
YSL calls it “Nude in Colour”. Huh? No, I kind of get it. The colours are intense, but can be worn sheer for a more delicate effect. The collection has a real retro feel, with the cotton-candy pink, pistachios and lilacs – utterly girly and super sweet.
Eyes are treated to sorbet-like colours while the cheeks are flushed with neutral peach or apricot. Lips are either sheer or pearl, but the fruity colours predominate, whatever the finish.
The Duo Manicure collection is extended with the Pistachio (a huge trend for the Spring) teamed with a deep cocoa, and the tangerine teamed with bubble-gum pink, shown in the model shot above.
I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the utter femininity of it all. What do you think?
