Biolight from Repechage

I have spent a very enjoyable afternoon, cocooned in the luxury of the St Martin’s Lane Hotel, surrounded by scones and cakes, all the while, blinded by science and guess what? I loved it!

No, I didn’t eat the missing scone  – NOT GUILTY!

We were there to learn all about the exciting new Biolight range from American skincare experts Repechage, which has just launched here, and to hear all about the wonderful benefits of quality skincare.

It’s exciting because this is breakthrough technology when it comes to treating hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tone using ground-breaking peptide and marine technology without the usual inflammation and irritation of the skin that is normally associated with these kinds of treatments.

We’ve all heard of Creme de la Mer and the famous “broth” but Repechage are the original pioneers in harnessing the powers of seaweed in facial creams and skincare.  Utilising active brighteners such as Hexapeptide-2 and Bellis Daisy, anti-inflammatories such as Liquorice Root, Willow Bark Extract for natural beta hydroxy acid and Goto Kola to help increase collagen growth, the range allows even the most sensitive skin to take advantage of a brightening skin range.  There’s a whole range of other ingredients also included, some of which have been used in skincare products before, but the key is that they’ve not been used in this way before.

I love that these ingredients are present throughout the range, from the cleanser to the toner, the serum to the moisturiser, the overnight cream to the mask.  So you really feel and see the benefit as you use each product.

Ultimately, this is innovative marine technology, harnessing the intense healing power of seaweed in a soothing calming recipe, infused into each and every product in the range and is suitable for all ages, skin types and ethnicities.

The star product

Traditionally, to reveal fresher, younger looking, more radiant skin, the solution would be to go for a Glycolic Peel.  You’d be sure of reducing the effects of hyperpigmentation, whether it be caused by sun damage, hormonal changes, the side-effects of medication or even post-acne scarring.  But the unpleasent tingling sensation and the unavoidable subsequent redness, inflammation and irritation puts many people off.

And that’s the breakthrough with these products.

Without any of the awful side effects, the Brightening Miracle Mask rejuvenates and oxygenates the skin.  The Liquorice Root and the Antioxidant Tea Blend containing Chamomile, Camellia Sinensis and Rooibos leaf extracts combine to take away any irritation so that skin is left feeling and looking smoother, more radiant and youthful, firmer and with a more even skin tone than before application.

Lydia Sarfati

I love that Lydia Sarfati, the woman behind Repechage and Biolight, has been in the business since 1970 (and she looks AMAZING, by the way).  I love that it is a family run company, that they control and implement all the research, production, packaging, marketing, sales and product development in-house.  I love that they extract their own seaweed – they don’t leave that all-important part of the process to someone else – and that they were the first company to use seaweed extraction in skincare products. I love that there are so many natural ingredients in the products, and that they really do believe in the “beauty from the sea” concept.

I’ll be testing out the products, and writing about those later, and I’m really looking forward to trying out the mask.

Biolight Facial

Attention to detail

Applying the Glyco-Sea Glycolic Peel

Misting with the Brightening Toner

For the full Biolight experience, a 60-minute Biolight Miracle Facial with the Glyco-Sea Peel is the Rolls Royce of the Biolight experience.  While it is a full-on Glycolic Peel to resurface and renew the skin, and contains 35% glycolic acid, the combination of the acid with the impressive list of ingredients that make up the effective yet soothing Laminaria Complex unique to Biolight means that there is no redness to accompany the brighter, more youthful complexion.

I have already had the priviledge of sampling the Professional Biolight Miracle facial in the states at its launch this summer. Clutching my homecare products my skin has been transformed over the past 6 weeks. A luminous overall look diminishing fine lines with a wonderful brightening effect means compliments have been rolling in to the point that I was accused of having botox! Due to my extreme skin sensitivity I would never consider fillers, botox or peels but this facial has truly made a difference in my life. Thanks for the great review Beauty Passionista I’m sure you’ll love the products as I am x SK West Yorkshire

These products sound amazing, what a great opportunity. I almost don’t want to ask about the cost though because I expect it’s not cheap.

@ Anonymous – sounds like you’ve had amazing results with this, I hope I see the same positive benefits.

@ Discovering Beauty – it’s not high street prices, but still very reasonable given that this is a premium product. If you’re keen to try it, perhaps just start with one product?
