Off to Nobu, Berkeley Square for the new season’s colours from Shiseido. What a perfect match! The best in Japanese skincare and make-up with the best of sushi, sushimi and sake! (Well, maybe not the sake – we are working, after all!)
My favourite of the new Limited Edition collection is the midnight blue Automatic Fine Eyeliner in Night Sky. A fabulously deep, intense cobalt blue that just doesn’t budge once it’s dried – perfect for the (hopefully) hot summer months ahead.
Paired with the oh-so-desirable The Luminizing Satin Eye Colour Trio Eye Palette in Pink Sands, a trio of super-soft eyeshadows in very wearable colours that just glide onto the skin and stay put all day too, this is my summer eye done. A beautiful soft pink, a peach perfect for highlight and a very gentle platinum colour, great for emphasising the eye and as a crease colour, these shades are as great for a light, natural looking eye as they are built-up for a much more polished, ‘done’ look. Minimal fuss, minimal time, and so many different looks that these two babies (along with my can’t-do-without mascara) can take me from day to night throughout the holiday season.

The other stars of the collection are the Bronzers, which are being re-introduced for the summer. Three shades, Light, Medium and Dark, are each housed in a compact with a decent sized mirror, and best of all, big, fluffy brushes to sweep the bronzer onto the skin. Often, I find myself throwing away brushes that come with blushers and bronzers – they’re normally too small or too ‘bristle-ly’ to be of any use, but, true to the Shiseido quality of make-up brushes, these are definitely worth the money and worth holding onto. These are utterly gorgeous bronzers. I’d get two different shades and use to contour and shape the face, as they’re not shimmery – just beautifully soft and matte.
